My Perth moment part 2

Assalammualaikum!

Gigih oke donlod apps blogger bernilai rm 12.90 supaya mudah nak update my blog ni haha. Bajet macam ada readers and followers je. Doesn’t matter la sebab i blog for own satisfaction and memoir in future.

Now nak sambung my Perth experience. 

Day 1

Usai check in aku have a nap for 2 hours. Cuaca sana masa tu was windy and chilly so sedap tidur. Wifey plak masak our lunch seadanya apa yang kami bawa.

Dah segar and kenyang kami pun memandu kereta menuju Freemantle. Tak jauh sangat, about 30km plus je from apartment. 

Freemantle is sebuah bandar pelabuhan di Western Australia. Sampai sana kami boleh nampak mega cruise parking tepi bandar je slumber. Because its an old town so banyak gak historic building dalam pusat bandar Freemantle.

Parking kereta di Perth ni boleh bayar guna credit card so mudahla nk bayar sebab kami xde duit kecik or coins like the locals. 

Memula kami pergi Freemantle Market but kami tak aware that the market is only open from Friday to Sunday only. Maka hampalah harapan kami nak shopping souvenir kat megabes. 

Kami just round2 bandar dan pergi ke jetty untuk mencuba the famos fish adm chips di Kaili’s. Part from the view, i am not a fan of its fish and chips..sorry guys, too plain to my liking.

Kemudian kami pergi ke pasaraya coles untuk beli bahan mentah bagi masakan kami sepanjang berada di sini nanti. Parking dalam coles lebih murah berbanding tepi jalan.

Kedai di sini pun tutup sewal jam 5 or 6 so tak boleh nak shopping lama2 sambil berangan macam di Malaysia hehe. Barang murah dan segar tapi jangan convert to MYR please. Kami beli ikan dan sayuran serta roti. Beras dah siap bawa dari Malaysia tho ada juga dijual di sana.

My Perth moment

Assalammualaikum!
Good day mate! The Aussie style 😬

Sungguh lama tak menulis di blog ni since kena transfer ke KL. Had no time to write. But today still on leave sebab baru touch down from Perth last night.
Tho ramai dah menulis pasal Perth with tips bagai, I still nak share my own moment for personal reference in future and perhaps to assist those who have plan to visit Perth.
Flight
Aku booked Air Asia X in May 2017, my wife is a teacher so had to travel during school holiday la kan. Malangnya during that period susah nak dapat sales yang gila2. Hence what i paid was the cheapest I could find.
Alhamdulillah no issue like delay etc. We flew to and fro safely and happily. Duration 5 jam tu to me agak lama so if u have small kids like me better prepare junk food and entertainment for them. Luckily flight going to Perth was at 12 midnight so the kids were sleeping je throughout the journey. But masa balik mereka begitu aktif dan jika bosan akan merengek serta buat bising 😅
Ketibaan  di Perth
Sampai di Perth airport kami lengkapkan borang kemasukan, very simple. Boarder force agency dia agak slow sebab ramai orang and few counters je operate. Yet mudah and friendly too, ramai sangat orang Malaysia 🇲🇾 melancong ke sana hinggakan officer yang layan kami tu boleh cakap melayu sikit2. Kami juga ada bawa bahan masakan so kena declare and mereka sekadar tanya, officer pelik kami tak bawa brahim or nasi lemak haha obviously that the common foods malaysian brought in to Perth.



Later ada biological screening which mereka guna anjing pengesan untuk hidu kita and luggage if ada bawa barang terlarang which includes certain foods type. Lucky us, no issue to pass the boarder enforcer. Kami bawa coco crunch and declare also lepas sebab utk kids kot..dia kesian.
Kereta Sewa
Selesai urusan bagasi kami menuju ke kaunter kereta sewa. Ye kami sewa kereta kerana kami ada anak kecil yang sukar diurus jika menaiki public transport. Jika anda tiada masalah seperti kami maka bolehla explore cara untuk menggunakan public transport yang aku lihat banyak dan mudah serta sepatutnya jimat.
Aku booked kereta Sewa atas talian melalui expedia. Memula book direct kat website syarikat kereta sewa tapi macam banyak sangat hidden charges nye. So aku guna expedia je supaya dapat final price which include insurance and toddlers seat yang wajib pakai di sana. Aku pilih kereta hyundai ascent je, practical utk keluarga kecil kami and murah.
Urusan menuntut kereta pun mudah, pergi je kaunter sykt tu named Budget. They were expecting me so just bagi lesen memandu serta kredit kad. Mereka serah kunci and there you go!
Sambil tu my wife pergi beli simcard optus yang dijual sebelah kaunter kereta sewa je. Internet is penting untuk GPS perjalanan di Perth.
Hotel



Oleh kerana flight midnight so kami sampai awal pagi. Plan asal kami nak terus berjalan sebab belum boleh check in. Tetapi tidur dalam flight economy class bukanlah selesa dan menyegarkan, aku sangat   Sleepy and perlu rehat. Maka kami try je pergi hotel dengan harapan dapat masuk awal.
Aku booked hotel via agoda in September. Mountway holiday apartment. Hotel ni perfect untuk bajet and keperluan kami. Harga tak mahal namun biliknya luas dan selesa. Ada dapur untuk memasak lengkap dengan periuk nasi, toaster, kettle, fridge and basic cooking utensils. Parking pun free.
Masa sampai memang di nampak usang, but hey u ain’t pay for 5 stars hotel don’t u? Pergi check in di office administrator apartment and she was like so helpful and kind to get our room ready as soon as possible before the standard check in time. She even said that I should emel earlier telling that I want to check in early so my room will be ready as soon as i am here. Tak sangka plak boleh buat macam tu hehe, aku emel minta sedia kan iron je sebab wifey nak gosok tudung nanti tudung tak cantik takleh keluar bilik la kami haha
Lokasi apartment ni very strategic, dekat dengan freeway yet dalam kawasan taman yang super cantik. Walking distance to perth city tau siap ada pedestrians walkaway from here cross the freeway. Nak jalan ke kings park pun dekat je also the bangunan parliament.
Aku saran jalan jela sebab bawa kereta susah cari parking and if ada pun like dekat kings park cuma boleh park for 30 minit. Taman tu luas and 30 minit tak puas bergambar.
Dari apartment boleh nampak Bell Tower and if rajin jalan kaki je ke elizabeth quay tu. Tak rasa lelah sebab banyak view menarik untuk dilihat. Nanti boleh lalu watertown outlet, london court, murray mall street and lain2 famos places within the city centre.

My campus life

Assalammualaikum

Tahniah kepada adik-adik yg baru menerima result SPM. Semoga ianya setimpal dengan apa yg anda usahakan selama ini.

So dlm tampalan kali ini. Rasa nak share my campus life experience sewaktu di UTM Skudai.

Pendaftaran & Minggu Haluan Siswa (MHS)

UTM Skudai located prominently in Skudai area once u turn in towards the University area. The Mosque can be seen from far. So kami sekeluarga were like so excited la bila nampak The U tu. Malangnya, i was assigned to Kolej Siswa Desa Skudai (KSDS) which situated not inside of UTM fence.

KSDS is about 5 km away from second gate and 10 km away from main gate. It just an apartment building from outside but a hostel set up inside. So my family didn't get any chance la to visit the campus area during that time.

MHS however was fun and enjoyable. I made many friends and  few of them are still in touch with me up to now. KSDS is all male college and highly populated with new student. Hence we made up almost quarter of the Sultan Iskandar Hall capacity every time we gather inside the hall. We were famous with our "Ombak" routine haha.

1st year

1st year - roommate dgn student mechanical asal Ghanu. Jeng kleng! we can't communicate at all. Dia pekat ghanu and aku tak faham apa dia cakap. End up dia jarang stay dalam bilik or almost like never kot. Dia melepak bilik member2 Ghanu la kot.

Kat campus plak jakun dgn sistem pembelajaran U...unlike my MRSM leaver class mate, aku x familiar with pointer system, so 1st sem kind of terkial-kial gak kira pointer. Bila dapat CGPA pun macam xleh nak appreciate sebab i cannot relate the point with my performance for that sem. But member2 say tahniah so i take it as a good result je la. To explain to my mom lagila dia tak boleh paham....last2 bagitau berapa A aku dapat jela.

Freshie kan ofcoz la teruja dgn campus life, aku joint almost every single club and association yang aku tahu hihi. Last2 semua meeting tak dapat join sebab clash with each other, semua club dismissed aku.

Antara moment yg aku susah nak lupa was bila nak siapkan tugasan dgn komputer. Masatu kami semua belum ada PC or apatah lagi laptop. Ingat lagi bilamana aku tebalkan muka pergi terjah bilik senior yg langsung aku tak kenal....nampak ada PC slumber je aku bagi salam and masuk tersengih-sengih nak pinjam PC, nasib baek dia bagi. Lepastu aku terkenal pulak dgn seorang senior yg jaga bilik komputer di kolej, so boleh la akses bilik komputer bila2 je diperlukan hihihi......

Masa ni gak aku kena buat my 1st ever pembentangan tugasan, pakai OHP je...tau tak apa tu? kena print je slide power point tu atas kertas lutsinar and letak on over head projector....klasik! btw kami masih pakai floppy disk ye huhu. For 1st presentation aku terus dapat title as King of bentang, terharu hahaha.....and i reckon i hold the title nicely till the end bilamana dinobat sebagai best presentation for our final thesis presentation.

2nd year

Still in KSDS but a new roommate! this time budak Kelantan and also my course mate. So we have no problem la to get along. Life in campus pun getting smooth sebab nothing is too new to me anymore.

Aku this time joint 1 kelab je which is Kelab Kaunseling & Kerjaya or KKDK. Ramai kenalan baru daripada fakulti berbeza bila join kelab ni, tu yang best. Sempat la merasa organize career workshop and career fair for UTM students. Paling sweet masa workshop tu aku jadi moderator forum with high profile panelist....what an experience. Time career fair aku diberi kepercayaan untuk jadi emcee in the welcoming dinner to all our corporate sponsors in 5 stars hotel, to me that time was quite something la. Almost every corporate sponsors rep to loved me and called me Aznil haha. Some of them offered me a job instantly but i was just at my 4th semester and still have 4 more sem to go.

owh if tak silap masa nila aku kena tahan dengan warden kolej sebab menonton tv lepas jam 12 malam, kami tengok badminton rasanya. Masa warden bebel2 tu dia tanya, apa yg awak semua tonton ni sampai lewat? aku je jawab. Then dia tanya berapa score...aku gak yg jawab haha. So dia kata ha awak semua ni tengok apa? dia sorang je yang tahu...then dia suruh aku masuk pejabat dia, dia tanya berapa pointer? sib baik oke so dia kata dia maafkan aku malam ni tapi hujung sem nanti if pointer aku drop sebab tengok tv je, dia akan denda....huhu aku memangla hantu TV pun, bilik TV tu aku sorang je yang setia menunggu.

 3rd year

Kami pindah kolej baru, Kolej 9. Now dah jadi kolej perempuan sahaja, dulu it was all male kolej. Roommate still the same sebab dah besar kan, kami dibenarkan pilih sendiri roommate and we agreed to maintain je.

Time ni aku aktif as Jawatankuasa Kolej Mahasiswa, so aku slow down aktiviti KKDK. Sebab kolej kami baru so banyak bende nak kena establish supaya jadi sehebat kolej-kolej kediaman lain yang legend kat UTM ni. 1st time aku masuk election untuk jawatan kat kolej. Sem 5 dapat jadi exco je, aku jaga bahagian kebudayaan. Aku selalu kena organize majlis2 untuk kolej termasuklah engagement antara Pengetua Kolej dgn para siswa. Kami juga buat majlis sambutan raya peringkat kolej, buka puasa and hari sukan. Rasa meriah la kolej kami. tak sangka semua pengalaman tu sgt berguna time kerja.

Masuk sem 6 macam naik pangkat, jadi Setiausaha JKM, best part was aku dapat bilik seorang dekat blok khusus utk JKM sahaja. So terpaksala aku meninggalkan rumet ku seorang diri haha. Bilik air pun xyah kongsi sebab too many!

Kali ni more work on proposal and paper work. Kami berjaya dapatkan TV and astro, Wending washing machine facilities and better cafe. All in all ia mendidik aku menjadi lebih mahir dalam pengurusan acara dan menyediakan kertas kerja.

Dalam pada tu aku dipilih mewakili UTM untuk pertandingan kuiz inter U di UIA.

Final year

Sedih sebab disuruh pindah kolej lagi, this time another new kolej which is Kolej 14. Hmmm semua kena start all over again.

Seperti tahun sebelumnya kami bebas untuk pilih rumet so kembali la aku kepada rumet lama aka Kiut hehe...

Final year aku kind of dah malas nak pegang apa-apa jawatan di kampus maupun kolej sebab konon nak focus siapkan thesis kami. But end up aku jadi bosan gak bila takde side activiti ni, maka aku pun selalu melepak je kat kafe kolej sambil menonton tv.

one day, owner cafe air, Pakcik Zakir datang tegur aku and ajak bersembang. Rupanya kami sama-sama kulaan or orang banjar. Since dia macam suka kat aku and dia tengok aku ni macam tak study je, hari-hari melepak tengok tv kat kedai dia haha....maka dia offer aku kerja sambilan dengan dia.

Aku fikir why not, dapat tengok TV dan dibayar....untung nye!! 2 semester terakhir aku di UTM dihabiskan dengan bekerja sebagai pembantu kedai minuman kolej 14. Senang je kerja nye pun, duduk cashier ambil order and kira duit. Sekali-sekala tolong basuh cawan or buat air yang simple itupun kalau Pakcik sangat sibuk. If anak dia yg dtg maka kena la kerja banyak sikit like lap2 meja and buang sampah hehe....pakcik tak pernah suruh aku buat semua tu and dia bayar lebih skek drpd anak2 dia bayar but aku ok je...semua family dia baik dengan aku.

Masa final year kami juga diamanahkan untuk buat 1 projek amal. kawan2 sebulat suara memilih aku jadi leader untuk projek ni, hasil sesi pecah otak, Shiau Fen proposed untuk adakan jogathon/walkahton. Kami semua setuju dan kami pun mulalah mengusahkan projek tersebut. Shiau Fen is now 1 of country best event planner to me....

as Marketing student ofcoz kami terapkan semua ilmu pemasaran kami to attract as many participant as possible. Larian amal seumpama ini adalah yang pertama di UTM! selain drpd tipikal promosi method, aku cadang semua kawan2 untuk jadi direct seller. Kami bahagi semua ikut kump dan perlu buka booth di setiap fakulti dalam UTM, setiap kali waktu lapang kami akan bertugas di booth untuk menarik siswa/wi UTM join our program. Alhamdulillah, it works! we gathered more than 500 participants on the day and able to garner RM 7K from the fee minus all the cost involved. The money donated to seorang bayi yg hidapi sakit jantung....keluar paper muka kami hihi. Btw my roommate aka Kiut was the best sales person la, dia sorang je dapat almost half kot, no wonder la why now he is 1 of CIMB top sales person and youngest branch manager.

Overall.

Sepanjang 8 semester di UTM aku la yang paling setia menggunakan servis bus inter kolej yang disediakan pihak UTM. Semua abang bus dah kenal aku and tahu my jadual pergi kampus, mereka takkan sampai hati tinggalkan aku haha.

Aku juga antara pengunjung tegar perpustakaan sultanah zanariah (PSZ) sebab memang la aku suka sgt tempat tu....gila canggih! semua buku yang aku terfikir nak baca ada di sana. Tapi biasanya aku lepak kat bilik bacaan in between from 1 class to another. Unlike member lain yang ada kenderaan, mereka biasanya balik bilik pada waktu senggang, akuni naik bus je so aku akan stay kat kampus dari pagi sampai ke petang.

Tempat makan paling best ofcoz for me is the one at bangunan kesatuan pelajar, cafe pak lah yang ada ayam goreng berempah tu....tiap kali aku puasa sunat mesti ada member bakar nak belanja makan dinu, terpaksa aku berbuka.

Masjid UTM pernah gak jadi tempat berehat waktu senggang if nak nap tapi tak selalu sebab aku prefer lepak dalam library. Boleh tengok tv kat PSZ hihi.

Couple?? i dun have time for that hahahaha....masa ni belaja je la dik, belaja bukan dalam kelas je but semua kegiatan luar yang kita join akan bantu kita untuk be a better graduates than the rest.

pointer aku average je walaupun merasa 4 kali dean list....funny enuf semua sem yang dean list tu masa aku sangat sibuk dgn aktiviti luar...lagi sibuk lagi score pulak.

Sekolah harian biasa pun bagus!

Assalammualaikum readers..

What’s wrong with daily school? Nothing right??

I said so obviously because I myself is a product of daily school. Okay let me be clear with this writing, I’ve nothing against boarding school.  In my current workplace, I am surrounded with colleagues who are boarding school leaver.  In fact I am also married to one…my wife went to MRSM for 5 years.

I am noting this just for a reason that I wanted world to know daily school also has good value and quality, yes boarding school is probably the best but the world doesn’t end there guys! Especially parents. Many push their kids to excel in UPSR so they can enter boarding school, if they don’t some parents acted like that poor kids life has ended.

To me, true that school has some influence over our achievement but above all is our self. If we study hard and smart, no matter which school we go..we shall succeed.

Being an average performer in UPSR and PMR, I did not qualify to enter any boarding school. Well I have never apply pun because I know I will not selected. I continued my secondary school at daily school in my home town with happiness haha…

After PMR most of my malay friends who did well moved out to boarding school. Hence it left me and the others Chinese student who had no choice but to stay even they score straight A’s in PMR. I was average but not too far behind, I just need a little booster to excel which I have actually never boarder about.

With me being among the only hope of the school for SPM, I can sense that the whole bunch of attention is given freely without me asking for it. Will I get that kind of attention in boarding school? Probably never!

I took 10 subjects for SPM. That time we were not allowed to take more than that and even if we were allowed, I surely fine with the 10. I struggled to find the 10^th subject however. My art teacher refused to allow me to take that subject for SPM, he said I will fail miserably. Okay fine. Lucky me that my school managed to get one new subject provided we have minimum 15 students joining. 

After few months, the class able to started, Tassawur Islam is the new subject to the school. I was among first 20 students from SEMENSA who learn and take the subject for SPM, we are the pioneer and I think SEMENSA history should record that I am the 1^st student from that school who scored A1 for that subject hahaha…

Out of 10, I was really bad in Math and English. I’ve never pass my Math paper in examination and only barely pass my English paper. That worry my school the most, I cannot enter any University if I fail Math and BI even I got A in other subjects. Hence, the school gave me special Math class with experience teachers. I have 3 separate extra classes for Math alone with 3 different teacher. 1 to tackle my foundation (form 1 to 3), 1 to cover form 4 and another 1 to cover form 5 syllabus. I am really thankful to my school for that effort which why I love my school very much. Alhamdulillah i passed my math paper and 1^st time I got B!

Being in daily school also had given me abundance of opportunity to represent my school in various numbers of inter school competition but sport obviously haha. I remember a teacher from neighboring school commented “awak lagi?” whe she saw my very familiar face representing my school hehehe. Out of many, we won Forum Remaja at district level by beating 3 boarding schools and few others daily schools. That was awesome!

Though I am not good in sport, my school gave me important role as secretary to my sport house as to ensure my school certificate will look ideal and complete. I was also appointed as Bahasa Melayu club’ President without me being the club member, funny kan? In the same time I was actually elected as Persatuan Agama Islam’s President which i’ve been with since form 1. Hence BM club had to select another president. Again it shows how lucky you are being in daily school.

Other than that, my school population ratio was quite balance between Malay and Chinese. All principals during my time were Chinese too, so we learnt to live harmoniously across races and become more competitive. We accept fact that Malaysia is belongs to no specific race from young age. We share this nation and together we protect this beloved nation no matter how bad the Prime Minister is now …ops!

Penang part 3

Assalammualaikum

Sementara tunggu kereta at service bay, jom sambung cerita Penang Trip last year hihi..

On 3rd day. Lepas sarapan kami ride uber to Upside down museum. Because it was saturday so umat manusia memang ramai. Panjang que untuk beli tiket. To enter pun kena que sebab dia nak bagi ruang and keselesaan visitors inside to bergambar which i like...unlike in 3d art museum, rimas nak bergambar because orang lalu lalang tak reti bahasa..

Just that u have to sabar la waiting outside for ur turn. Wish that ruang menunggu tu ada aircond and seat especially for eldery, expectant mother and small kids. Tiket rm 16 dewasa. Kids below 4 is free. They should also consider online ticketing.

From the museum kami jalan2 takde hala haha...end up sampai lebuh chulia and jumpa street art bean and marilynn monroe. Finally decided to call uber going to Penang Time Square. Takde plan to buy anything pun cuma nak bawa kids to see transformers je.

Later kami jalan kaki ke nasi kandar hameeds for quick lunch. After lunch kami walked to Komtar. Konon nak usha The Top, penang latest attraction...sky walk at level 65 in Komtar building. Naik level 5 dulu where the top main venue is located. Wow! Totally a different world from Komtar. Macam dalam science fiction movie. Aku suka tempat tu. Ada dinosour museum. Underwater activity and many beverages outlet yang fancy. Sadly harga tiket untuk sky walk to sangat mahal for me, rm 98 for adult. Sama harga flite tiket kami balik ke KL tu. Maka kami batalkan sahaja hasrat nak naik level 65...lagipun dah

naik Penang Hill...pujuk hati.

Malam tu kami visited Pesta Pulau Pinang. Kami tak aware pun but semua uber driver recommend us to go. Mereka kata only in dec je ada pesta ni. So alang2 free time kami pun pergi.

Sesak! Mujur naik uber itupun 30 minit untuk u turn sahaja. Masuk tapak pesta ada bayaran rm 3 dewasa. Dalam ada jualan aneka produk mostly pakaian dan makanan. Ada fun fair and taman lampu like i city tu. Overall we had fun tho had to rushed back due to rain.

Last day...
Because kena cek out at 1200 hours so kami cuma jejalan sekitar hotel je. Lucky because semua street arts were actually near by. Still kami sewa basikal to alami suasana berbeza ala2 pelancong asing. Sewa rm 20 sejam basikal yg boleh bonceng 2 dewasa and 2 kanak2 with roof. Seronok and puas hati pusing bandar boleh pergi mana2 yg kami rasa nak tuju.

Lepas check out kami still have time sebab flite jam 550pm so call uber pergi pasar chowrasta. Cari ole2 untuk bawa balik. Usual items like jeruk and t shirt la kami beli sikit. Dari pasar tu memang dekat ke the famos nasi kandar line clear. Again sunday on lunch hour so the que was like infinity to me....exagerated haha

Somehow ada another nasi kandar spot...jasmin restaurant just side by side je. Kami takde masa nak que maka makan je situ which is not bad too and the owner claim that food there coming from the very same kitchen of nasi kandar beratur....wallahualam.

Perut dah kenyang kami uber to penang airport and ready to fly home!
